Sara grew up in Ithaca, New York.  Her dad is a woodworker and Sara remembers spending a lot of time watching him work.  Starting in high school, she became interested in instrument repairs through her love of playing the cello and worked in the Cayuga Music Shop in Ithaca.  After attending college for two years, Sara decided  a career working on instruments would be more fulfilling.  She applied to the Violin Making School of America, where she is now enjoying building a cello.
